HISTORY & POLITICAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT
1.Preview:
The history and Political Education (HPE) department at St. Henry’s College Kitovu is a dynamic and thriving department. HPE is offered at both O-level and A-level with O-level students required to take the subject as a compulsory course. Notably, students who take HPE consistently achieve excellent grades with many securing A's and B's in their final assessment.
2. Staffing:
The history department is endowed with a well trained man power with both ladies and gentlemen having qualified at degree and post graduate levels.

There are fourteen members handling the subject with a teaching experience of five to twenty five years of service. The staff is innovative and has mastery of the subject matter both at O-level and A-level as attested by the performance of our candidates in the National Exams.
3.Activities:
The major activity done by the department is facilitating learning, Assessing progress, guiding and mentoring learners.
The department also organizes internal history seminars whereby other schools are also invited to attend. This enhances the learners’ ability to compete favourably and also improves on their content coverage. The department also supports students and teachers through regular facilitation by resource persons, providing guidance and expertise to enhance teaching and learning.
4.Facilities:
The history department has a collection of relevant and up-to-date textbooks and pamphlets authorised by experienced teachers within the department. These are readily accessible in the school library. Teachers and Learners can easily access these books in the History & Political Education section of the Library.
The text books cover both O-level and A-level syllabi for UNEB.
